In order to clearly differentiate between the payment types for online and offline sales, all required payment methods for POS must be created and assigned to the respective stores/subshops. To do this, go to Configuration → Payment methods and click on Add to create the payment methods one by one.
The text in the Description field will be displayed later in the app when you select the payment method; the Name field is an internal entry. Finally, mark the payment method as active and click on Save.
After you have created and saved the payment methods, they will be displayed in the list of available payment methods on the left. If you select one of the payment methods, open the Subshop tab and select the stores in which the respective payment method should be available. In this way, you can, for example, prevent cash payment from being available in your online store.
In addition, the payment methods need to be set in the POS plugin configuration. For more information, click here.
We recommend you to create the following payment methods:
- Cash: This payment method should normally only be available for selection in your stores and should therefore only be assigned to the subshops of your stores.
- Debit/Credit Card: Even if you already offer a payment method for credit card purchases in your online store, we recommend that you create a separate card payment method for your local stores so that the analyses of the payment methods are not distorted and, for example, different card payment providers can be used for online and offline retail.
- Bill (optional): If you want to offer the purchase on account (also) in your local store(s) and the payment method does not exist in your shop yet, you can create it now as well.
- Pay on collect (optional): If you want to offer your customers Click & Collect with the option to pay in-store, you can create a specific payment type for this. When paying in the store, this payment method will be replaced by the actual payment method.
Note: Assign this payment method only to the specially created shipping methods for pickup, so that your customers cannot select payment on pickup for any other shipping methods.
Important: If you have activated the automatic creation and sending of invoices in the configuration of the Shopware ERP powered by Pickware plugin, you need to exclude the pickup payment type from the process!
