The margin of an item is calculated by means of the markdown calculation. Therefore, it is also referred to as the markdown margin or margin. The calculation is done according to the following formula:
Example: You buy pens for € 0.30 net per piece and want to sell them for € 0.99 gross. To calculate the margin, first determine the gross purchase price, which in our example is € 0.357 per piece. Now enter the gross purchase price and gross sales price into the formula:
You receive a profit margin of approximately 63.9%.
Please note that the backend always calculates with all decimal places and only rounds at the end of the calculation. If you get different numbers, this could be due to rounding differences.
