Picking with Pickware WMS
To pick an order, simply tap on any order in the app - your user requires the appropriate authorisation to do this - or tap on Pick next order to select the first order in the list. Then tap Start Picking at the bottom of the screen.
You will now see all order items sorted by bin location. Scan the items one after the other with the barcode scanner. If you have the right item, you will hear a confirmation signal and the screen of your iPod or iPad will briefly light up green - if you have the wrong item, you will hear a different signal and the screen will briefly light up red. You will then be asked to either confirm the bin location displayed or to select a different one. This is helpful if, for example, you an item is stored in more than one bin location and you did not take the item from the original bin location. You can also select and confirm items manually without a barcode scanner by tapping on the screen. However, no visual or acoustic feedback is given, so make sure you pick the right item.
After you have scanned all items, the invoice and/or delivery note are created and - if you have set up a printer - printed automatically. The order is then displayed in the Ready for shipping tab in the app.
Print shipping label (automatically)
In the backend under Configuration → Basic Settings → Additional Settings → Pickware WMS you can set that the shipping label should be created immediately after the picking process is completed. This requires that you use one of our shipping adapters. If the option is active, the window for creating the shipping label opens after you have picked the last item from the order.
To initiate the shipping process manually, simply scan the barcode on the invoice or delivery note or select the respective order in the Ready for shipping tab. After clicking on Create new shipping label, the shipping label will be printed automatically.
Complete the shipping process by scanning the barcode on the shipping label. As a result, the customer will automatically receive the shipping confirmation email including tracking link, the physical stock of the items included in the shipment will be automatically cleared and the order status will be updated.
Pick instructions
You can store internal picking instructions for individual orders or across shops for specific products. These are then displayed in the Picking app during picking.
To add a pick instruction for an order, open it in the backend and navigate to the tab Communication. Enter your desired text in the second field and then click on Save internal picking instructions. In order for the picking instructions to be displayed in the order, you will have to reload the order overview in the Picking app.
To add a pick instruction for an item, open the item details in the backend. You will find the field Internal picking instruction in the Basic info tab further down in the section Free text fields.
